The letter V has some interesting connections to the other letters in the alphabet.
The letter U and the letter V were very similar in earlier Latin script and not always differentiated in writing.
The letter W is also closely connected because it developed from doubled U and V forms.
This is also why W is sometimes referred to as double u.
This means it is important to make the v clearly pointed and not too narrow so that it can be easily distinguished from the other letters.
The letter v in cursive needs to be formed in a way that makes it easy to connect other letters without making the writing illegible.
