Cursive Letter Z Worksheets

The letter Z is one of the few letters of the cursive script that is not formed as a rounded letter.

There is a shift in direction when making the lowercase z, and if it is not made cleanly, it is hard to read. Also, if it is made too tightly, it is hard to see in the middle of a word.

This printable worksheet for letter Z practice gives lots of space for kids to practice making both capital and lowercase Z letters.

While the capital Z needs to be made evenly, the lowercase z has a smaller footprint with a directional shift and a finishing stroke.

The extra space is needed because the letter Z is a harder letter to estimate than some of the basic round letters such as o or c.

Kids can practice slowing down on the letter Z and making sure that the directional shift does not go too far across the line.
